The local smithy – a secret spot in Rach Gia City

I don’t know exactly when they began their career as blacksmiths. But since I was born, the smithy had been there, by a small river. It’s been a few decades; time flies, a lot of things have changed, people get old, the small river was paved over, but the smithy stays there, generation after generation becomes blacksmiths.

It’s the only smithy that remains in the whole province and located just 7km on the outskirts of Rach Gia City. It’s very photogenic and a great place to see if you love photography.

Everything is made under 1 single ramshackle aluminum roof.

In the photo, 2 blacksmith, who is the second generation, forging a nife in the early morning in Rach Gia City – Mekong Delta – Vietnam. They can produce dozens of knives a day.

If you are looking for a secret spot to see local life, this may be the place for you. I have Rach Gia Tours that cover this spot. Join me if you are traveling to Rach Gia City.
